Another Bug!

It would appear that we have moved into bug heaven, as far my little princesses are concerned! They squealed with delight at finding cicada casings all over the yard. Imagine their joy at being shown a real live black prince! I know ... little girls and bugs don't usually go together, but in this case, it's a match made in heaven. Mini-Grissom is the nickname earned by my oldest dd, and she's declared that she's going to be a cartoonist and entamologist. Now ... if we could just convince the spiders not to come into the house, then we'd all be happy.

Bugs!

Some incredible insects visit my garden! Isn't it amazing how colourful they can be?! I'm digging the sun flare on the hairy spider photo, and the wasp was taken using my macro extension tubes. Want to get into the St Andrews Cross spider's face with the macro if it's a nice day tomorrow. Hope he's still there.

Cooking up a Storm!

Today I got to be a TV star with my Tupper-friend Kate :D We were the studio contestants on Ready Steady Cook (Channel 10), and we had a blast! Our chefs were amazing, the food was *drooool* incredible, and the whole experience was so much fun it should be illegal LOL. Not sure when our episode goes to air, but it will be next year. I was on the Tomato team (because of my love for all things red), and Kate was Capsicums. I'm not giving away the winner, but it was very close ... only 1 vote in it!

Too Cute!

A couple of weeks ago some of the local ducks showed up with 10 gorgeous little ducklings. I kept thinking I should take some photos of them, and I'm really glad I did, because they moved to another part of the creek the day after I took these.

It's All In The Family!

I bought this gorgeous set from my good friend and Stampin' Up demonstrator, Karen Oliver. This set is being sold to raise money for the family of a wonderful man who passed away too soon. You can see all the details at Karen's blog ... there's a link on the right. As soon as I got it I couldn't resist playing, and I've stamped my representation of my family, and my sister's. It's really fun, and I got to use my Stamp-a-ma-jig too. My 6yo dd also played, and even without the stamp-a-ma-jig, she got some great results. She stamped her favourite people, and spent ages colouring them carefully. I coloured in carefully too ... hardly went outside the lines! LOL

Another day ... another wedding!

Just a few of my favourites from the wedding I shot today. I really like working with laid-back brides, and despite being a casual type of wedding, it was a very special day. I felt honoured to share the day with this family.

Playing in the Urban Jungle!

So ... I have this wedding to photograph on Saturday, and it's in the middle of a light industrial area. I took the girls down there this afternoon in their best party dresses to see if formal could indeed look good in an urban setting. Guess what ... it does! Then I added some very cool actions to grunge the photos up a bit more. Now I'm just hoping it's nice and overcast instead of glaring sun or pouring rain. Cross everything for me ... please!

A Paintbrush in my Hand

I was delighted yesterday to have a paintbrush in my hands again after a lonnnnnng break. I finished this cute little hinged canvas photo display book a while back. But I'd also started a blue one for baby boys, and a yellow one for the unknown baby. But I didn't finish them. So ... sitting at home recovering from extraction of wisdom teeth, I got bored and finish the painting. Now I just have to put on the hinges and stick the inserts in ... voila ... finished!

A Day at the Gardens

A big day out at a beautiful and large garden yesterday provided me with some gorgeous photos! Unfortunately my camera battery died before we were even half way around, so I only got 52 photos ... but it was such a lovely place that I have decided to go back as soon as possible, this time taking dh to enjoy it with us. Most memorable garden ... Rose Garden ... Wow! Most memorable moment ... dd having a 2.5m Olive Python called crusher placed around her shoulders and smiling about it!!! Thankfully I saw someone in the crowd taking photos of the whole show, and am crossing everything that he'll remember to email the photo to me!

Another Blog!

I've decided to start a second blog ... as if i don't have enough to do! LOL It will be nice to keep my photography, digital art and painting ramblings separate from the invitation stuff ... since the first blog is kind of my 'website' for clients.

No doubt this blog will be kept up to date more often, with photos taken and artwork created.
