Hailey-Rose

This is Hailey-Rose. She is a fashion student, and when she's not hunting out vintage fabrics at op shops and thrift stores, you can find her unwinding with pilates or yoga.

Hailey-Rose is the third doll of my own design, and she is available in my Etsy shop Hello Dollies right now. Click here

If you would like a doll like this, but with different colour hair, eyes and ensemble, please email me at dlewis71@aapt.net.au or convo me via Etsy.

Introducing Taylah ....

Another doll of my own design. Taylah loves listening to Avril Lavigne, doing tai bo at the gym, and is studying for her Bachelor of Art at university. Not exactly a girly girl, but still loves her lip gloss. Happy to create a special Taylah or Tatiana doll for you ... just email me at dlewis71@aapt.net.au or convo me via Etsy.

Say hello to Tatiana

This is Tatiana. When she's not taking ballet classes you'll find her at a kickboxing class at the gym. She's very versatile ;) Tatiana is the first doll created from my own pattern, combining my love of dollmaking and painting. She also probably shows my secret teen obsession with the movie "Pretty In Pink" *blush*. If you would like a doll like Tatiana, but customised for you, please email me at dlewis71@aapt.net.au. Or you could convo me via Etsy. Watch for more of these beautiful girls over the coming days!

More Kokeshi dolls

I managed to paint another kokeshi doll today ... this time a small one, on a baby singlet. I just listed it in the Etsy shop. Personally I'm loving her hot pink / lime green kimono with rising sun motif :D

Kokeshi

When my cousin visited Japan, she brought my girls a little Kokeshi doll each. Their cuteness is beyond control!! I've been working on my own style of Kokeshi doll, and finally finished painting this one last night. She's going to be a gigantic cushion when she's finished! Would love to hear some feedback. Hubby thinks they'll sell like hotcakes (although ... he could just be saying that so I'll stop painting teddy bears LOL).

Ever wondered if you could?

Someone challenged me to make this pair and I wanted to try it ... just to see if I could make dolls without a pattern ... from scratch. As it turns out, I can :D Won't be making these again, but the experience taught me that I can make my own dolls now, not relying on the patterns of others. This is a good thing because I can really let my imagination run wild without having to worry about TOU's of other pattern makers.

Elf Blinkin at your service

I did promise to add a photo of the doll that Santa commissioned me to make (you can call me Elf Blinkin) for a lovely little girl called Holly. She wanted a soft Bratz doll, but no such thing exists. What would you have done if your child assured you, as she wrote a reminder note to Santa, that "...it's not a problem Mum. Santa can make anything". Well ... it was delivered a little late (apparently silly mixed up Santa left it at my sister's house down the road), but Holly was thrilled with her special dolly. And I confess to being thrilled that it looked so great, considering I'd made it from scratch, and she's even washable!

OzSwapTillYouDrop - Bushfire support bingo

For those who don't know it, I own a very cool Yahoo! group called OzSwapTillYouDrop. The ladies there are wonderful, and we have lots of fun. We are a scrapbooking swap group. Next week we are beginning a game of bingo, but members must donate to the Victorian Bushfire Relief in some way to be eligible to play. I am putting up a fairy portrait as the prize.

Are you a scrapbooker? Want to join a swap? Want to play games and join some challenges? Come join us ... click here to go to OzSwap (just remember to return the questionnaire) and we'd love to have you along :)
