Princess Pointy Shoes

... for want of a better name, that's what I'm calling her today! This is my first foray into 'mixed media' with her little paper crown. I used all Semco paints, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. My mind is running with ideas of painting surfaces and hubby wants me to turn her into a print.

Lucky for me, tomorrow I will be surrounded by awesome painters and art/craft supplies galore at CraftFest at Sydney's Olympic Park. If you're going to be there, come by the FDAA Paint by Numbers and say hi!

Writing competition

My girls are really excited about a new Australian Girl doll competition. They're both starting to create their stories, and I'll help princess #2 to jot her story down. If you have a girl who loves her Australian Girl doll, and she's under 16, go visit the website and she can enter the competition too. The prize is $100 to spend in the online store! Cool!

Another awesome Etsy find

For a bunny-loving girl like me, imagine my absolute delight when I stumbled across this incredible Etsian a couple of days ago. Her painted cloth dolls are sooooooooooooo appealing. Definately go check her out. www.blackcrowprimitives.etsy.com

I've been blogged about!

Check it out ... the delightful Helen of HJM Art Gallery has featured me on her blog today. Thank you Helen :)

Kokeshi on Denim

Just finished last night, and freshly listed in my Etsy shop, is this girls denim pinafore painted with one of my original kokeshi doll designs. The pinafore is a girls size 12, and is pre-loved or upcycled (depending which term is trendier). I was given this dress by a friend, and put it in the 'to be painted basket'. Now that I've had my #1 princess model it for me I am hearing mutterings along the lines of "if it doesn't sell I'm having it" coming from up the hall.

I'd be happy to paint a kokeshi doll for you, and if you have a piece of clothing you'd like it painted on, then I can do that too! Any colour you like. Email me at dlewis71@aapt.net.au or you can convo me via Etsy if you prefer.

Frankie & Fifi approacheth

It's confirmed, and I'm really excited ... Frankie & Fifi, my own line of cross-stitch kits produced by Semco, are being released this month. They won't appear in stores straight away, but the buyers get to see them this month and I hope they all order up big!

Hailey-Rose

This is Hailey-Rose. She is a fashion student, and when she's not hunting out vintage fabrics at op shops and thrift stores, you can find her unwinding with pilates or yoga.

Hailey-Rose is the third doll of my own design, and she is available in my Etsy shop Hello Dollies right now. Click here

If you would like a doll like this, but with different colour hair, eyes and ensemble, please email me at dlewis71@aapt.net.au or convo me via Etsy.
