New kids on the block

No ... not the 80's boy band, but some funky new crochet patterns. There has been nothing in the crochet pattern market for emo, gothic or simply funky people. Well ... now there is! Check out Quirky Crochet by Melissina on Etsy. She has 3 new patterns available, and given that we're talking about my uber-talented sister, I know there's more to come! Patterns are PDF, so no shipping, and they have step by step colour photos and very clear instructions in USA standard crochet terminology.

You can check out Cordelia here and Cardamon here. There's also a super-easy rainbow serpent for the reptile lovers out there.

Now, I know I'm probably a bit biased, but seriously ... aren't these cool???!!!

One card - Two challenges (again!)

EDITED to include a third challenge!!! Over at Stamp Something we've been challenged to use a digital stamp ... check! This is the digital version of Oleander from CC Designs Sweet November collection. As I posted this on Saturday while the challenge was current, surely this counts :D

It didn't start out as a lazy Sunday (those darn Girl Guides and their fun activities!), but I did manage to knock over all the boring stuff before lunch. That left me with the afternoon to myself and I made a few challenge cards. This is the first, and I might get around to posting more tonight.

The All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog challenged us to use a sketch - check!
The Color Me Copic blog challenged us to use a straight hair copic technique- check!

Do go & and check out the other entries and Design Team eye candy on those blogs ... just ... wow!!

On this card I used black card base with lime shimmery bazzil.
Pattern paper: DCWV baby boy stack + scraps
Greeting: Darkroom Door, All Occassions

Tiddly Inks challenge

**THIS IS MY SECOND POST FOR TODAY** Scroll down to see the Monday Showcase post for The Town Scrapper

I recently discovered the wonder that is Tiddly Inks, and fell in love with the cute & quirky digital stamps. This is one from the gothic cute range called 'Pinky'. The current challenge is to create a birthday card, so here it is! I have used copic markers to colour the image and the background is leftover pieces of bazzil and KI Memories paper. The greeting is a Darkroom Door stamp from the All Occassions set.
